 Great basic blu-ray playerNov 06, 2009
I got this for my bedroom TV, so I can watch all of my blu-ray movies upstairs as well as on my home theater setup. I didn't need anything with bells and whistles, just something to do basic playback. And that's exactly what this player does.
It does have some drawbacks. One nitpick is that when you have the display set to show the amount of time left in a chapter/disc, as opposed to the time elapsed, the front display doesn't show a minus in front to indicate that (although it does show the amount of time left). Higher priced players typically do that. It's minor, I know, but it's something I wish it had. Also, the remote isn't particularly well designed. It works, it's just too big and clunky. The player itself isn't all that aesthetically pleasing, either.
This player is perfect for someone who just wants to put in a disc and press play.
If this is for a higher-end setup, I would spend a little more. I have a Sony BDP-S350 for my home theater and like it more than this, but it costs more.
I give it five stars because, if you're looking for the cheapest solution to playing blu-ray, this is a five star product. It's not five stars when you take the low price out of the equation.

Great bargain!Oct 23, 2009
This Blu Ray player is not only inexpensive, but works great. I have friends with expensive players that will not play discs by certain companies. But, this player plays them all. I haven't found a disc it won't play! Picture and sound are fantastic. The only drawback is that it takes about 30 seconds to load a Blu Ray disc, but that's no issue for me.

 Exceptional quality for the priceOct 22, 2009
I received this Blu-Ray player for free with the purchase of a qualifying Samsung HDTV a couple of months ago on Amazon. I have used this Player in the bedroom and have no complaints. The device is working perfectly, picture quality is excellent, ease of use is simple, and the SD card slot is a nice attribute. The design and cosmetic appearance isn't the greatest, but for what I needed it for - playing Blu-Ray movies in the bedroom - this exceeds my expectations. For a free player, this unit far exceeded my expectations. Plus, the design matches the design of some Sharp Aquos HDTVs, which I happen to own. I am using a simple $14 HDMI cable from Cables To Go that is sold off of Amazon.com, and don't see the need to purchase a cable that is over $20. Excellent qualities about this player:
1. Full 1080p HD Blu Ray Output
2. SD card slot (for viewing pictures, listening to MP3s, etc)
3. Optical Audio output
4. Optional Component out (for less than 1080p resolution)
5. Energy Star rated electronic appliance

One cannot located a better buy on a Blu-ray DVD player. Features galore and more than enough to satisfy all but the most ardent video/audiophile. Recommend highly.

This is good player for the money. I have it from Amazon for 116$ and you can't buy it for less.Loading is kinde of slow, but this's no problem for me.
