they would not communicate after being left on for 4 hours in the monitor mode.

I was looking for an intercom device which would allow my wife (sleeping in one room) to contact me during the night (sleeping in another room) if she needed assistance. The NovI WI equipment was not acceptable - there was a lot of noise on the system when it was not in use: it might have been caused by the path of the signal coming close to the path of the wireless interconnect between my PC and laptop. Even when we were transmitting it still was noisy.

The product carries several badges so if you order a Novi and get a Westinghouse, panic not.
It works as advertised. Plug it in an talk. Heck plug in two and someone talk back to you ! :-)
We have a big house, I have tested these on the different circuits and there were no issues. In short, they are reliable, the sound quality is good, and they work. The price is reasonable.

Do not buy! Manufacturer misrepresents product!Nov 11, 2008
This and other products like it are NOT wireless. They work over your building's electrical wires. Somebody should force them to take them off the market. Do not be ripped off by the misrepresented product description.

My thanks to all who reviewed this product. I'll look at other manufacturers. Evidently Westinghouse isn't very interested in selling a dependable product. So, I'll vote with my feet, and walk away.
