not much for portability!!!Nov 16, 2009 I bought this so I could have a "portable" digital TV, one that would pick up the new digital signals that replaced the analog signals [thus making my Casio 2-inch TV unusable.] I plugged in this TV, using the provided antenna, and scanned for channels. First try, got zero channels. Second try, shifted the attenna, got three channels. Then, I tried to view any of the three channels. All channels "failed to received broadcast." I tried another antenna and got four channels, different from the first three and got the same failure message. Out of frustration, I did what I was trying to avoid and attached my DTV converter box as the AV input. That worked. Problem is the TV is now attached to another plugged-in device, defeating the whole purpose of the portability I was seeking. So: Portable it is NOT!!!!!
Luckily, I got this for a low price so I'm not as mad as if I had paid the higher price. I'll probably use a cable splitter and attach a cable wire to this as an additional TV.

I'm glad I purchased thisNov 11, 2009 I needed a small TV for my office. I love everything about this little TV except the volume doesn't go very high. You almost need to be right in front of it to hear it. Other than that I love it. Great picture. Battery will last about two hours when fully charged.

Handheld LCD TVNov 10, 2009 The TV is as advertised. The reception is not great with the included antenna, unless you are very near to the TV stations tower. You will need some sort of amplified antenna to get reception of the majority of channels. That puts a brake on the portability of the unit. Overall, I got what I expected. Clear Picture and small enough to keep in the car.

Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV - TERRIBLENov 08, 2009 Purchased for a Christmas present - when it was 10 months old, the battery quit charging. The wall unit is working, as the TV will operate and show "green" when plugged in. I have tried to contact Haier about this problem 4 times over a month and 1/2 with absolutley no return message or phone call. They have ignored all requests for service (still under warrenty) or even a service location. Their customer service is absolutly terrible - I strongly recommend looking at another brand, but be careful as several other models look very much alike and could be the same unit with a different brand name? I would never deal with this vendor for anything again, nor recommend them to anyone.

DisappointedNov 05, 2009 Just recieved the unit yesterday.
Was hoping for best, but reception is absolutely awful.
Performs like your direct TV does when a thunderstorm is passing by. Picture disolves, comes back, ghosts.
Also, I wouldnt consider this "portable" unless you intend to also buy a bag to carry it in, and to always disconnect the antenna.
I was going to buy this (these) as a Christmas present for a dozen employees, but am happy I purchased just the one as a trial.
I'm moving on to another unit and suggest you do too.
