junkMay 18, 2009 update: well almost a year later and the thing took a dump on me, its done will not turn on or charge, the computer recognizes it just like the other reviwer here said but the mp3 player itself will not do anything. junk should have just spent the extra 50 for an ipod.
this is a great option for half the price of an ipod 8gb, and works as it is supposed to to an extent. some minor issues is the touch pad can be too sensitive at times and not enough so at others. the screen is hard to see in daylight, turning the unit on is a minor annoyance because you have to hold the sliding switch down for like 6 seconds, which is a pain. a second or two would be more efficient. sometimes when you load the music menu it repeats all the options 3 times when you can only select the first section of options. and on occasion when you power off the unit the screen flickers repeatedly for about a minute. all in all the unit is full of small glitches, but it still plays music, so as far as I'm concerned it isn't bad for the price. also, the control keys light up white, don't let the picture mislead you like it did me. the red would have been a much more appealing asthetic.

A Nice PlayerMay 18, 2009 I wound up buying this player because my last one had too little space, and I'm quite pleased with it.
It's a good quality player, and seems to have a nice, long battery life. I knocked off a star for two reasons; firstly, the touch screen is VERY sensitive. If you so much as brush against it whilst it's playing a song, it will press a button. Thankfully, there's a locking button that turns off the touchpad temporarily.
My second reason was due to it not having a battery bar when plugged into the computer. It's impossible to tell whether or not it's been fully charged while it's still plugged in.
Otherwise, it's a good player, and I'm quite happy with it.

Coby 8 GB Flash MP3 Player with 2.4-Inch Color LCD, FM and Touch Pad Control (Black)May 17, 2009 This product probably would of been a nice product, but I never received it. The website said it was delivered, but it never came and Amazon just replied saying it was delivered when it wasn't. I will never order from here again. You took the money from my account and I never got my product.

Don't get thisApr 25, 2009 The program it came with wasn't worth the trouble. Using Windows Media Player, coby would not accept many songs, I don't know why (they were mp3s). Player froze several times after I first turned it on and needed a tiny pin to reset it. Touchscreen itself is annoying, lights that show the "buttons" don't stay on and don't have an option to, fingerprints have to be wiped off often for touchscreen to stay responsive. This morning (the day after I first got it) the player would not turn on. The computer recognizes it but the player itself stays dark and unresponsive. The reset button will not work now, nothing is helping to turn the player on. I am returning it and do not recommend that you buy this product.
