DisappointedNov 20, 2009 Upon receipt of the tire gauge I was pleased with the large display and size of the item. When I applied the gauge to a valve stem it wouldn't seal and air continued to leak out. I applied it to three of my other vehicle valve stems and the same leakage occurred. I returned the gauge for a refund. Note: By the way, the Amazon return process is no hassel. The Amazon representative provided me excellent service.
DefectiveNov 05, 2009 Unfortunately the unit received was defective. It leaked from inside the dial to the point I could not get a pressure reading. It was returned for a credit.

Accutire MS-5510B Racing Tire Gauge - not as advertisedOct 09, 2009 To begin with, my first impressions are that this is a well made and packaged gauge. However, the material on this page says that the gauge reads 0-60 psig in 0.01 psig increments ("It reads tire pressure from 0 to 60PSI in .01 increment")(2009.10.09), and that is not true. The readings are in 0.1 psig increments.
In addition, there is a BIG difference twixt precision and accuracy. It doesn't matter how precisely you measure something if that measurement is wrong. The brief document with the gauge states that the accuracy is +-1% + 0.5 psi and that the resolution is 0.1 psi. If you measure tire pressure that is at exactly 30 psi, the gauge might read anywhere from 30.2 (30-0.3+0.5) psi to 30.8 (30+0.3+0.5) psi. Not the "racing quality" that the specs seem to indicate. So buyer beware. OTOH, if you want a good gauge for your vehicles, this looks like a good one at first blush. The connector snaps on to valve stems easily and securely with no leakage. The pressure readings seem to stabilize in a few seconds. You can bleed air through the bleed off valve and my impression is that the gauge immediately shows the new lower pressure when you close the bleed valve. My habit is to go a bit high on the pressure in the tires, then bleed down with the gauge until I have the pressure I want. If the gauge is consistent, that is what is important for most tire use, as I want my tires to all be about the same pressure and as close to the vehicle specs as reasonably possible. Using the example above, if I want 30 psi in my tires, I'll likely aim for a reading of, say, 30.5. That's halfway between the two values I calculated above, so is likely to be as close as I can get to the real pressure.
The gauge has a habit of turning off every 60 seconds in use, so as you go from tire to tire, you'll have to keep turning it on. Would have been nicer if the auto turnoff time were, say, 3 minutes.

Good Gauge. Works well and is accurateOct 02, 2009 I purchased this Gauge after trying on several other gauges. This one seems to work really well. It feels well built and sturdy. The hose is nice and flexible.
The end perfectly clamps onto the valve, The reading stays for you to look at after you disconnect it from the tire.
The backlight is nice and bright. I generally take my readings at night so it works really well for me.
I tested this gauge on several other peoples vehicles and this seemed to give me consistent readings even when the other gauges were all over the place. Overall a very good product.

At Last, An Accurate Tire GuageSep 10, 2009 I've had many tire gauges but this is the first one that is consistently accurate. It's expensive compared to the others but worth every penny!
