Absolute total waste of time and money - buy canned air instead !!!Dec 03, 2009 Whatever you might be expecting from this product it is sure to underwhelm you. I tried it on my iphone which operates in a fairly dirty farm/ranch environment although protected by an OtterCase. The Air Dr. can barely (and I mean barely) blow the dust and dirt away from the sensitive connection areas on the phone. The capacity of the cartridge is only a few seconds and the last 50% of the life of the cartridge is at significantly reduced pressure. For the cost of a set of 4 replacement cartridges you would be much better served with canned air, a small vacuum or a small compressor. This was truly a waste of money.
This thing blows! But not in a good way.Aug 11, 2009 The "AirBlaster" truly blows hard, in every way but the literal. In fact, air volume and pressure output is meager compared to a standard can of air, even when freshly charged. Barely adequate to blow dust out of a laptop; don't even think about trying to use it to blow off a lens.
I bought this overpriced and underperforming device for its compactness, but the plastic nozzle cannot be removed (except by drifting out a tiny roll pin with a pin punch, which would possibly destroy the unit- I didn't try) so any compactness or packability is pretty much nullified- it's awkward and fragile to pack.
But the real problem is that the CO2 cartridges are extremely, unjustifiably expensive and don't last at all. I needed two ($6) to blow the dust out of one laptop, which is outrageous. As a bonus, they leak down when left alone, guaranteeing that you need a brand new CO2 refill every time you want to use the thing.
Further, if you attempt to spray constantly for more than a couple seconds, it sprays little chunks of dry ice, then freezes shut, and you have to warm it up to proceed.
I emailed the maker, and they offered me four cans of air in exchange, which is almost fair. I asked for the retail value of the "AirBlaster" and 4-refill pack in air cans, and if they send that, I'll be happy, and my lesson will have been learned. It's proper of them to exchange it, but in my opinion, it should never have been produced.
Caveat Emptor! This little thing looked cool in the store, but it doesn't work well in any way, is ridiculously expensive, and should never be purchased by anyone for any reason. Just buy a cheap mini can of air for 1/10th the price and 100x the performance.

Depends on the applicationJun 10, 2009 The Clean Dr duster is compact and gentle. That is actually a very good combination for cleaning cameras, cleaning the lens of CD/DVD player, and other delicate mechanisms. If you want to blow heavy accumulations of dust out of a computer, then you need a powerful "canned air"-type duster.
The pressure of most "canned air" dusters is potentially damaging, and difficult to control. Moreover the rapid temperature change caused by a high volume of very cold gas might damage some components. Some even even spray out a liquid (if you hold the can anyway other than perfectly vertically), which although it evaporates quickly, I worry may damage front surface mirrors or electronic image sensors.
Similarly, I find that the high velocity of "canned air" blows dust INTO my scanner though tiny gaps. With a Clean Dr duster, I can blow dust off the glass without blowing it into the scanner. The compactness of the tiny sexy CleanDr is obviously an advantage in mobile applications---such as in your camera bag.
In conclusion, compact C02 dusters are great tools when used appropriately. The problem is the misleading advertizing which claims that these are more powerful than "canned air."

What a piece of trash!Oct 14, 2008 Grabbed this on clearance and thought the tip looked focused enough it would work. Until I read the other reviews I thought I just got a dud--because this was USELESS. I can blow harder, and it froze up instantely and was used up (BOTH cartridges) without even managing to clean my laptop keyboard!
The bad reviews are right, but this can be easily modded to be great!Aug 22, 2008 First off, it is only a 16g cartridge, so don't expect a lot from it, but you are paying for the compactness of the unit, so you don't have to pack the bulky can of air. If you have ever tried the smaller 8oz or 6oz cans of air, even those don't last that long. Secondly, if you've ever tried to get that one dust bunny (or jackrabbit) and you can't reach it without pulling cables to get your bulky can of air in the case just right, this is for you.
All that is needed is a pair of pliers, a toothpick, and a drill with a very small bit (I use a 3/32nd). Use the toothpick to gently push the restraining pin out of place on the top of the nozzle, use the pliers to remove it entirely. Next remove the nozzle piece (the straw piece is connected to the brass manifold). Now with the drill, bore a hole directly in the flat, back of the manifold. You will not have to drill long, as the piece is not that thick, after the hole is punched through, re-assemble. Be sure that you replace the restraining pin, before you test the new pressure that you will now have.
Now I'm sure the manufacturer will say that not using it as designed, as they warn on the package and I make no claims or warranties as I'm not the one modding your AirBlaster. All I know is that I found a similar review on the web with these instructions and it worked for me.
