I returned themMar 12, 2010 Nice big cans, decent sound, one major problem - head band size is not adjustable,
so even on my big head (XL hats) it wasn't comfortable. too bad.
Most Gratifying sub-$100 Audio Investment PossibleMar 07, 2010 Wonderful, *wonderful* headphones! Exquisitely detailed, honest sound. The bass, while certainly lower-output than similar 'phones, is very pleasant to listen to. While mostly audible, at comfortable listening volumes, the 700s put out just enough targeted, focused "oomph" to be totally believable sonic performers. I could rave for ages.
The so-called "3-D wing" design is surprisingly comfortable (provided you're upright). Does sound leak out? Yes, of course!--they're open-back 'phones! If you're looking for transit-optimal 'phones, these aren't your ticket. But if you're wanting the hi-fi of your dreams wrapped around your head for a song, this'd be it :)
Joyous listening! Thanks, A-T!
Amazing! No more sweaty ears!Mar 03, 2010 I have a set of Audio Technica ATH-M40fs studio headphones that sound amazing, but I can't wear them for too long because my ears ... start sweating.
I got these open air headphones and they are awesome. They are huge, but fit very comfortably and no more sweaty ears!
Some reviews complained that they are too big. I fixed that by bending the two wires on top. It was very easy to adjust and now I have the perfect work headphones.
These are open air headphones so there is some sound spillage (you can hear what I'm listening to), which is not an issue because I have my own office. If you work with other people next to you, this might not be appropriate.
It's also nice that you can hear if someone starts talking to you because the headphones let some sounds in, but are isolated enough to fully enjoy the music.
I go as far as saying that these are the best set of headphones made for people working on computers.
INCREDIBLE FULLY DYNAMIC RICH LARGE CRISP CLEAN SOUNDFeb 28, 2010 I will just say this. You have not experienced these headphones until hooked up to a proper source and have them amped.
I had these hooked up to a non-amped creative card and yes they sounded very good but it was a if I had to use a word "basic" very good sound, and as others have said the bass was extremely lacking if you like powerful bass.
HOWEVER!!!!
I decided to give these babies the chance they really deserved. I bought a Xonar Essence STX with the built in AMP.
Now let me tell you...................................
The first time I hooked them up and every single day since, I AM and HAVE BEEN completely blown away. The sound difference is from here to the moon and 10x beyond. Everything that shined in these headphones before became times more prevalent and YES EVEN THE BASS is NOW VERY POWERFUL RICH ACCURATE AND STRONG.
I am extremely satisfied with these headphones combined with a solid source.
