A solid speaker.Mar 08, 2010 Don't let the product images fool you. These speakers are nice and slender, look beautiful and have a small "footprint," so they will fit just about anywhere. As other reviewers have said, 30-40 listening hours loosens the speakers up and that is where they really shine. Beautiful sound, even at low volumes. The speakers are very well built - Very sturdy. Readily accept "banana plugs" (which I highly recommend you take the time to use). Even in other parts of the house, the stereo sounds good. Really good. I use it primarily for listening to music of all genres, from 70s funk and classic rock to metalcore, hip hop, dubstep, and 60's country tunes. Best speaker for the money. Plus, they are magnetically shielded, so you can have them near your televisions without worry.

Awesome speakersFeb 23, 2010 I bought them solely based on ratings on online reviews to replace the Polk Audio M70. The Polks were great but I had to crank up the volume to really bring them to life. But with the BIC I am able to appreciate music and movies at low levels, which is neighbor friendly living in a townhouse. Sound is clear and vibrant, just like others said in their reviews. The bass is solid and tight, not boomy and muddy. I'm playing it daily for about 2 hours a day to let them break in and hope they'll get better.

These speakers are an incredible value!Jan 23, 2010 I love these speakers.I have 4 pairs of them right now.To me they sound fantastic. They have a very tight bass sound which is very important to me.I'm 47.I've owned many speakers in my life time.I subscribe to Sight and Sound, and Home Theater.I've never seen these reviewed. It seems these magazines are kind of snobbish. They feel a speaker must cost a great deal of money to sound good.I would like to see them do blind testing of all their products they review.I think the results would be interesting.I own some Polk RT 2000's that cost me $2000 a pair. They sound very good but I seriously can not really tell the difference between these.Buy them!
I've also listened to the DV84's.They don't sound as good. The bass is not really tight sounding. It's not as well defined.

Non-maindtream brand takes sound to great valuesDec 07, 2009 Bought these speakers 6 years ago. I have used them for HT and 2-channel listening. These are musical in a 2 channel set up with limitations. I am passing them onto my mother only because I did a serious upgrade from $200 speaker to $2400 speakers. The BIC DV64s are worth the money if you are looking for good sound, quality build, and your priorities demand a sensible budget.

Excellent SoundNov 19, 2009 I have owned several speakers over the years from Pioneer to Jensen, Kenwood and Panasonic and to date these BIC DV64's are the best speakers I ever owned. They sound very clear, no distortion at all. I use them as part of my home entertainment system and listening to music from Classic rock, hard rock, classical, new age, no matter what I listen to, these speakers always sound great.
