5My thoughtsMar 09, 2010
I find the Sansa Clip a very good unit for the money. It delivers great sound out of a very small and light unit. I have since purchased more of the Clip for others. They all love it. No hard drive means less problems.

5best mp3 player for active peopleFeb 20, 2010
I have been using my sansa clip for over a year now in a dirty factory environment. Couldn't be happier with it. You can clip it on the back of a hat or on a shirt pocket mine has been through hell and back still works great. I bought the silicon cover so i could hold onto it without dropping it and it also makes it stick to your clothing better. Also bought marshmallow ear plugs make big difference in bass if you get the plugs tight in your ears.

5Great Quality and DependableFeb 17, 2010
I had a Sansa MP3 player prior to buying this one. It lasted an unusually long time considering the fact that I used it everyday. Some days I would have it on more than having it off. The enjoyment I receive from this equipment is well worth the cost.

225% Probability It Will Break On YouFeb 16, 2010
In my home we have purchased four sansa clips for years. We like their compact nature and ease of use when downloading mp3 music to it. Of the four purchased, three have given good service and one failed within 1 month of using it. All of them are used for running and jogging outdoors and on treadmills, so they go through a lot of shaking and similar activity. The one that failed seems to have something loose inside which leads me to believe its due to poor factory assembly of some sort. Because one of the four failed, I would take into consideration that the device will have a 25% probability that it will fail. I am an engineer and 25% probability of failure is very high and unacceptable in industry (although this product is made in China). And judging by the bad reviews on other web sites...I am having a difficult time being convinced about spending the money for a fifth sansa clip. It may be time for me, at least, to consider another brand model.

4Excellent mini mp3 playerFeb 15, 2010
I had been searching for a mini mp3 player for a while, and my main requirement was that the player could support playlists (seems like many of the smaller players don't support them). I also wanted it to be as small as possible, and I just wanted a music player (no video).

I picked up the Sandisk clip and have been very happy with it.

Pros:

- playlists! best bet for playlist creation (since doing it via Windows Media Player is rather difficult, time consuming, and doesn't really work, to be honest) - is to use the Sandisk playlist creator (available via Sourceforge) - do a google search for "Sansa Clip Playlist Creator"

- is really small and light

- no special software required - just plug it in and the computer recognizes it as an external hard drive

- since it is just audio (no video), battery life is excellent. Only need to charge it infrequently

Cons:

- scrolling through playlists could be a bit faster

- pauses between mp3 files - only really notable if there is no pause in the original recording - i.e. a live album without pauses between the track on CD now has pauses between songs on the Clip. Would be nice to not have any pauses at all.

- I did have a problem initially when using Windows Media Player, after synchronizing it said I had less memory than I should have had, even after deleting all the files - so needed to reset the device. So - just best to avoid using WMP
