OK ButNov 21, 2009 I bought this head set for traveling. It works just fine but the voice comands are not that great. You have to say call home, call office and sometimes it gets the call office, etc mess up. They need to get rid of the call home etc. and make it call favorites and let you set them up. I had to change my call office to a favorite because I would all ways call office some how. Also you can't just answer the call by pushing the button. You have to wait for the number to be call out and then say answer, that take up time. I want to answer the call sooner, like push the button.
Get the z9i instead...Nov 14, 2009 I purchased this Bluetooth in May of 2009 and had lost it by October. That certainly isn't the product's fault but when I went to order a new one I went with the Z9i instead. The voice command to the headset is a nice gimmick and I would use it every one in a while but I spent more time getting through the V1 to get to the phone than in savings or convenience of being able to command the V1.
I have just received th Z9i and it seems to work at least as well as the V1 and I can get to the phone voice commands to make a call or check the time a lot quicker.
Works great...exceptNov 13, 2009 From a functional standpoint, this is the best bluetooth headset that I have owned to date. It is loud and clear, noise cancelling function is very effective, and the voice command capability is brilliant. The problem is that the headset will not stay in my ear. The ear clip worked reasonably well when I first bought this, but the rubber bushing soon after became stretched and would not hold the ear clip in place. I have since tried different methods to keep it from flopping around, but eventually it falls apart. It seems to me that a company capable of designing such a technologically superior device could have come up with a more effective method for keeping it on your head. Let's hope that blueant corrects this with their next release.
vi blue antNov 13, 2009 the v1 silver blue ant is a true hands free blue tooth when you get a call it will tell you a name and number and ask you if you want to answer or not this helps when driving or reading with a touch of the blue ant face just say call #1 thru 6 preset numbers if you dont know press again and it will tell you what it can do for you some times i forget it there it so lite once i used it to light my way and find the right key it has a bright flashing blue light it`s up gradeable go to its web sight it has two ear hooks and three ear buds a goose neck charger for you computer and one for your car it the best one i have found and i have had 4 kinds
Stay a LONG way away from this one!Nov 12, 2009 After endless researching on technical forums such as CNET as well as reading end-user reviews such as on this site I decided to "bite-the-bullet" and purchased two of these units: One for my wife, and one for me. At first I was ticked pink as I really loved the voice commands in this headset - something I'd never experienced with a bluetooth headset. I was thoroughly impressed. Voice quality is good, speaker volume plenty for what I am doing and ... all was fine. Then one of the 2 broke...it just quit charging. "Okay", I thought, "They're allowed to have one defective unit in the bunch..no one makes a perfect product every time. I contacted online customer support and received fantastic service. I was given an RMA number and I shipped it in. I got the replacement, brand new (looking) unit with all the accessories...nice, now I have lots of power adapters, ear pieces, etc. I pull it out of the box, charge it up like you're supposed to and ... VOILA (Plays the taps) this thing is defective, too. It gives NO voice through the speaker. I was able to pair it because I knew how to read the flashing lights but - NOTHING. It seems to understand me (I told it to "Switch headset off"; waited about 5 seconds then said, "Yes" and it switched itself off...experience told me how to do this) but it says nothing to me. Okay, now two bad units. Let's put this one aside for now......
So...now I'm working with the second unit I purchased. This one seems to be great and I have it for about 3 months and SNAP - off pops the piece that you plug your adapter in to plug the unit...it's also where the speaker is. On close inspection I see there is a tiny plastic piece that is snapped in two. However, I'm able to "jam" it back into place and the unit continues to work. I finally get tired of that and using some epoxy I'm able to really secure this thing down, good. I'm still VERY careful how I plug and unplug the charger..being careful to grab the right thing so I don't put undue pressure on the now-glued connection.
Well, guess what? As of two days ago this one now has decide it doesn't want to charge anymore, either.
So now I'm going to contact them and attempt to get our money back for both units. THREE units, only 4 months into it, and all three are defective. I HAVE to have reliable bluetooth headsets due to medical reasons - I can't have these things quitting me in less than 6 months for no apparent reason. I am a technie and know how to take good care of electronic equipment.
Buyer beware...my option is, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT.
