5Great sound, amazing design, wonderful durability.Nov 22, 2009
These headphones are incredible. I am very into music. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile necessarily, but I listen to music constantly. And I would judge these as good quality, especially for the price.

I bought these to listen to my iPod with, and to use for home studio recording. They work magnificently well for both.

But you have to check out the design. My one qualm with these is that they have an incredibly long cord. One time, I was walking around my room and I stepped on it and pulled it out of the right earphone. Now get this: the cord that goes into the actual earphones is a 1/16" input. In other words, you can't accidentally pull it out. Also, one time, I was trying to adjust the earphone, and I broke it off. But wouldn't you know--it comes out of the part that goes over your head. So essentially, the two most common ways to break headphones are a total non-issue.

You know those products you have that work so well that you think to yourself, why can't everything be designed this well?

Well, this is that product for me.

Oh, did I mention they sound great and have excellent bass response?

Way to go, Sennheiser.

4Great bang for the buckNov 20, 2009
I purchased these due to wanting a pair of over/on the ear headphones that had a significant low-end. I researched it for some time, and these seemed to be the go to headphones for bass that were still under $100. I have not been disappointed. The bass is NOT so overwhelming that it drowns out all other sounds, but it can definitely be felt and heard. However, if the song doesn't call for rumbling bass, it won't pump artificial bass into the song. The mids and highs could be a little clearer, but I am overall very happy with my purchase.

5Great SoundNov 11, 2009
My first purchase of a Sennheiser product and I am extremely impressed. I have worn them for 3 hours and was never uncomfortable. You can spend a lot more but you will have a tuff time beating the quality.

4Great sound but a little uncomfortableOct 12, 2009
I've had these for about 5 months and they've not broke, and If they do, almost everything is replaceable. The sound is actually very good. They do have a LOT of bass but nothing seems to be recessed or muddied by it. So for rock, hip hop, and techno (which is what I listen to) they are ideal but maybe not so much for other genres. To tame the bass, I use the lounge EQ on my iPod which by the way they can be driven by so no amp necessary. Another set you may have looked at are the AKG K81s, and I heard those side by side with these, and these have much warmer mids better bass quality (less distortion) and I love the crispness of the highs.

Pros:
durability
Lots of bass (could be a con for some)
replaceable parts
easily driven off a PMP

Cons:
Comfort (your ears can get sore after a while
Not really circumaural
Lots of bass (could be a pro for some people)

Sennheiser HD212s > AKG K81s >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Skullcandy
please, whatever you decide, don't buy Skullcandy (If your looking for bass, these even have more, better quality bass than Skullcandy)

3What am i doing, landing an airplane or something?Sep 24, 2009
My sennheiser px100's stopped working on me after about 8 months of heavy use. I was so impressed by the sound that i decided to opt for a more expensive model. I figured that a dj design would sound better and look cooler at the same time. aFter reading the reviews of the hd202 and hd212, i decided to go wtih the 212's because they reportedly have better bass.

So far, i'm not impressed. My px100' seemed clearer and had more bass. (And were cheaper by the way)... but i've alse read that there is a burn in time required to get the optimal sound out of these things, so i'll hold off on judging them based on that. my biggest problem is that these things are huge.

I look like a freakin air traffic controller trying to land an 747. All i need are the hand lights. These things are not that comfortable either.

I'll assume that they'll sound better over time, but I was looking for something that's more multi purposed. E.g. listining to while at work, while working out, while jogging, or just walking around the mall. I don't think these will cut it. They're too freaking big.

On a positive note, they are great for cancelling the outside noise.

If you are looking to do active stuff, then these may not be so good for you. But for around the house use, they might be just fine.
