 Duracell Pwoerpack 450 - Didn't Work as AdvertisedAug 31, 2009
I had very mixed feelings about buying this Duracell product - probably because the reviews were so mixed. I bought it for a camping trip where I would need some limited electricity. The product arrived and I was very careful to follow all of the charging instructions. I let the product charge a full day longer than outlined in the product manual. When I finally turned it on, the compressor and the built-in light both worked. However, the battery would not power any of the electrical devices that I plugged into it - all of which were within the wattage/amp range of the device. I tried several items, including: a 60 watt lamp, a small air pump for my inflatable mattress, a small fan, and a laptop computer. The USB port did charge my iTouch iPod and my cell phone. I returned the product to Amazon within 30 days and they refunded my money.
The concept is a great concept - however the product did not live up to the hype - too bad, because I was really hopeful that it would have worked as described.

well i've had this thing for 8 months and its officially dead, all it is is a Xantrex inverter battery unit with Duracell addition's that take away from the quality and some really loud annoying useless voice thing, worked great until i guess I used up the batteries, it no longer will charge and all it tells me over and over really loud is error, when i plug it in it says charging has started over and over again and doesn't hold a charge. next time i will spend half the amount I spent on this P.O.S. and just buy a Xantrex power pack, they got better revues than this piece of junk

Works fine. It comes with 1/2 charge. Don't use it. Follow the instructions and give it that first long charge and it will work fine. I am in the country so a low tire can become a real issue. I just went out with the machine and topped off a low tire no problem. I had to try the electric because it goes out here from time to time. I plugged in a lamp and it ran for 6hrs. and 15 mins. And I am guessing it will run heat tape for 10 hrs or more. Important when you lose power at 10 below. And I feel confident if I have a low car battery this will work as advertised. Just to be able to get a car started at 5 in the morning and not be late for work is worth the purchase price. And the real reason I wanted it was for in the spring and during the summer for the lawn tractor. Every year at least one tire is low. And every year I get at least one slow leak 5 mins. before being done. This year I am ready.

This product is very good as it says what it says.
What I liked about this product is that you can replace the internal battery which will make it last even longer.
So I highly recommend this battery to anyone who needs some recharging.

Excellent Buy - Great at what it does Mar 02, 2009
I am very impressed with this product. It is a perfect companion in outdoor fun and emergency. I used it outdoors to power music system and charge my cell phone. It has AC/DC outlets and a USB port that can charge a vareity of electronic devices.
Air compressor and detachable jumper cables are very handy. Infact, I used air compressor to inflate my tires and it worked well.
Oh! not to forget its user-friendly voice technology for step-by-step instructions.
Go for it, you will not regret having it!
