4Gee, mine works really well.Nov 16, 2009
I've had this charger at work for several years and it works great. Especially like how it tells you if the batteries are no good. Was just going to order one for home and just read all these nasty reviews. However, I have 3 chargers at home that are completely worthless. I only use rechargeables on our digital camera so it's always a guessing game to determine what's broken, the camera, the batteries or the charger. Often, have purchased brand new batteries that are duds straight out of the package. Was just talking about this with my husband, grateful, for the time being anyway, that car batteries don't malfunction like this. Well, guess I have to research chargers... Perhaps this product got cheapened, like the Mr. Coffeemaker I just bought and returned!

1Don't Buy This Product PleaseOct 18, 2009
Most of the time this charger won't charge batteries. I only bought this to charge D+ batteries and it doesn't do that. The batteries I'm charging are new Energizer brand batteries. It's too much money for this cheap product. Go buy the La Crosse Technology BC-9009 AlphaPower Battery Charger. It'll be worth your money.

1Fails to fully chargeOct 08, 2009
I have had this charger for about a year now and it has always done a poor job of charging the batteries. When it says that the batteries are "Done", they usually are not done. If you open the charger and then close it again, the battery indicators will show that the batteries are only 50%-75% fully charged. Also, if you happen to leave the batteries in the charger after they have "finished" charging, the batteries will be steadily drained until they are dead again. After they have been drained, the indicator will still show that they are fully charged when in fact they aren't charged at all. After which, you have to open the charger and close it again to start the charging process all over again.

I have also found that, my batteries are dying progressively faster and faster. I would likely attribute this to the fact that this charger does such a poor job of charging that it is in fact reducing the life of my batteries.

Additionally, I have found a number of my batteries getting very hot in the charger occasionally. When this happens, I have noticed that the charging progress has stopped and is "stuck" at a certain level and then it won't ever make it to the fully charged state. When this happens, I have to remove the hot battery and let it cool down, and then restart the charging, and then it will continue to the "Done" state.

In short, I would avoid this charger. It is very convenient in that it'll charge all of my batteries from AAA all the way up to 9V, but it doesn't do a good job at all.

4Fair Price but needs quality controlAug 28, 2009
This Charger is great for those who have an assortment of battery sizes needing to be charged. Instructions are straight forward and easy to follow.
The charger allows you to choose the number and type of battery you need to charge and the L.E.D's keep you well informed of the charging progress. The quaility control from the Mfgr could be better as the one I received has the L.E.D's offset from the viewing window so some info is missing. Overall a good product.

I had the same problems reported by others; first it started only charging a couple of cells, then it went dangerous! It caused cells to overheat so badly that the shrink wrap on the batteries melted and the plastic troughs in the charger got deformed from the heat.

DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
