Good for the price...Sep 07, 2009 Besides echoing many other comments regarding frequency response (somewhat harsh treble, muddy bass), they do the job as a recording monitor for instruments in the mid-range pretty well.
And for the price, I really can't complain... the phones themselves have far outlasted any others I have ever owned, including expensive ones--with exception of the ear pads that are disintegrating after probably 6-7 years. The fact that they still make this model is likely some testament to the HA-G101 overall resilience though heavy use.
Decent for the price...Mar 20, 2009 At first I thought the purchase of these headphones was a complete mistake since the sound for music was so poor. HOWEVER, by using the Equalizer function in iTunes and Windows Media Player, these headphones are actually decent - for the price. If you are undecided between these and something $10 more and care what things sound like, pony up the extra bucks. A good set of headphones should not NEED an equalizer to sound good. If you own this set, the EQ settings have high treble as high as possible, midrange at bottom, and bass above half, with the shape for 10 sliders in a rough V. These headphones handle bass pretty well. I found these settings worked well across folk, death metal, jazz, techno, alternative, and classical - so pretty much everything.
Sounds goodDec 22, 2008 Good enough for me. Was looking for a good pair of headphones in the cheap to game with. These are comfortable, sound good enough, and have a nice long cord on them if your gaming on a console and need to sit back and away from the tv. Of course expect nothing amazing from these but hey if they're stolen your out 5 bucks.
They are ok but not great Apr 19, 2008 I have had better headphones for the price in the past but i needed an extra pair for my spare computer in the guest room and they sound muffled compared to my SkullCandy headphones that i own which are smaller and more lightweight and plus over a long period of time they make my ears sweat like my tag line they are ok but not great if your on a budget get them but if you can spend a few more $'s get a pair of SkullCandy LowRider headphones or there earbuds which are good as well even the JVC Jelly style earbuds are better and more cleaner sounding but i think they should last if you take care of them
A BargainAug 27, 2007 It might look ridiculously big but it block outside noise and very comfortable to wear when watching TV or listening to tunes and for the price you can not be wrong.
