The two Kensignton combo cable locks for laptops arrived on time and were still in the commercial packaging. The seller apparently missed sending the order out within the usual timeframe but compensated for it by sending them express to ensure I got them by the promised deliver date.

I got this lock for our laptop. It worked once, but then never again. So lucky that it was not attached to the laptop. I could not unlock. I tried the method to pick on YouTube for this lock, that didn't work either. This is an older model. I spoke with Kensington tech support and they told me that this model is old and not as secure. I should get a newer model. Kensington has very helpful tech support.

Decent lock with a few quirksMar 10, 2009
This lock seemed completely ineffective when I first opened it. I had no problems resetting the combination, unlike others. However, it took me several minutes to completely figure out how exactly the lock mechanism works and to get it to properly lock on my laptop. The directions state insert into laptop then turn 90 degrees, spin dials to lock. The trick is that the combination won't change unless you have the lock properly inserted ALL THE WAY IN to the laptop keyhole. For me, this meant removing the little black rubber ring around the end so that the lock would fit far enough into the computer. However, now that it's locked, it doesn't seem very durable... But all I was hoping for was a visible lock that deters thieves, not prevents actual thefts.

lightweight and compact, with a coiled cable and smooth turning lock. fits snugly against your laptop and stores nicely in any auxillary side pocket in your laptop bag without taking up much room or adding additional weight for comfortable transport. highly recommend.

Great locking mechanism, the the cable is like a giant slinky cord and can be irritating as it never stretches out and can pull light laptops if stretched out far.
