 Great product and barely noticibleAug 24, 2009
This was such a great purchase - it keeps my laptop free of dust, debris and the occasional drop or two of coffee. It stays put and you barely notice it. Also super easy to clean.

Pro: Protects your keyboard pretty well. My last laptop had junk and dust between the keys. This will keep you keyboard clean however I dont think I will help much preventing liquid spills since it does not cover the speakers. It sticks on pretty well and the laptop closed easily and tightly. Cleaning it is a breeze. It lasted through out my entire laptop life (2.5 year).
Con: There are few things that can be done better with this cover. It doesnt cover the speakers so it doesnt protect against everything. It is pretty thick and will leave marks on your screen after like 2 or 3 months. The marks can easily be wiped off but its still a pain. It is think however its very flimsy. After half a year of use I have already poked a few holes into it and its easily ripped with just nail friction. Nothing major but it could be made more rigid.
Other Thought: I will definitely recommend this product. I definitely recommend a keyboard cover in the first place.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY FINANCIAL INTEREST IN THIS PRODUCT.
You've just invested in an expensive laptop so protect it with this inepensive item. The more expensive protectors found in the Apple store are not that much better.
PROS:Makes the keyboard nicer to touch!
Keeps unwanted hair/dust/food out of the keyboard.
CON:The edges could adhere a little better.

This keyboard protector is great! And it's cheap. I use my computer at least 8 hours a day and this cover works amazing. Don't be worried about how cheap it is; be excited. And buy it. I promise, it'll make you happy.

 Decent protection but not a perfect fit.Jan 07, 2009
I bought the product for $6.99 so my expectations were not terribly high. The product came in a low budget plastic bag and no instructions accompanied it.
The product does not fit tightly onto my keyboard and it may not even be 'fitted' for the 2008 Macbook Pro (unibody design). After already sending a few items back to the respective merchants for things outfitted for the older Macbook Pro, I am settling for this item due to about a 95% fit and the purposes of just keeping dust and oil off of the keyboard. For the price, it is a good value. The keyboard protector covers the keys in the periphery of the buttons but is not entirely flush against the buttons. However, the cover does not affect the feel or function of the keyboard, at all.
I would trust it to protect against keyboard wear and dust but not against any liquid that may spill. I hypothesize that more expensive alternatives will fit no better. There is no adhesive which is a plus (I had a first generation keyboard skin from the late 1980s which had a messy adhesive that was unpleasant to install and remove). This cover stays in place with typing so it is functional.
Overall, it is a less than perfect fit but it serves its purpose for the price. I give it 3 stars (it's ok).
UPDATE:
After a week of it 'breaking in', it is still on the keyboard and has not moved off by its own volition. The keyboard is comfortable to the touch and my keys are protected. The central body of the keys are flush, as is the periphery of the buttons, but the cover does not fit 'perfectly' over the buttons. It is not a spillproof fit but it is doing its job.
One drawback after a couple of months of use is that the oils from your fingertips are transferred to the screen - No big problem, you just use a microfiber cloth to wipe it off.
