Belt clips breakDec 23, 2009 I am just about to buy a new case for my iPhone after having two of the Marware CEO cases. The case is great, but both times I have had the belt clip separate from the case. I am a very active user but only have it on and off my belt 1 or 2x per day.
Best Horizontal Case for iPhone 3G, SOct 09, 2009 This is the best case of its type on the market that I've found.
I've owned two iPhones (I now own a 3GS), and I've had experience with several iPhone cases and lots of experience accidentally dropping my iPhone while in the case. What I'm looking for in a case is:
a)Overall quality construction.
b)Good velcro to secure the flap.
c)Firm attachment to one's belt so the case won't fall off.
d)Good protection from rain.
e)Protection from point stresses (i.e. striking the iPhone on a corner exposed by the case).
f)Protection from overall acceleration stresses (i.e. dropping the iPhone flat onto a hard surface).
(a): The case is well-constructed with thick leather. I've only had mine for about a week, so I don't know how well it will age.
(b): The velcro is good. Another different model of case I owned had really weak velcro.
(c): The spring steel in the clip seems solid, and it has little enough clearance that it will fit even thin belts snugly.
(d): The case has a solid top and there is some overhang at the ends, which provdes good protection (probably the best that can be attained in this style of case).
(e): The thick leather and the "overhang" at all four corners helps to cushion the iPhone when dropped in this case. Essentially the leather deforms to cushion the stop. The only vulnerability seems to be the opening at the bottom in the center, but one would have to drop the iPhone onto something unusual and it would have to hit just right for this opening to matter. This opening is necessary in the product in order to remove the iPhone from the case (no way around this). I judge this case superior to other models that leave two of the lower corners exposed to impact.
(f): The thick leather is again helpful in this regard. In most cases iPhone breakage is caused by point stresses rather than overall deceleration, so (e) above matters more. Thick leather may be the best that can be done in this style of case.
This is the best practical case I've encountered. I especially like that fact that the lower two corners are effectively protected and cushioned from accidental drops.
Well designed but they're all velcro now.Oct 03, 2009 I just received this case from Marware themselves, and the one I got was velcro closure (I had wanted a magnetic one). None of their cases on their website show a magnetic closure anymore. I'm disappointed.
iTouch PouchSep 12, 2009 This is a must have for all you iTouch people out there... It's easy to slide in and out and comfortable on the belt unlike other pouches... It's worth the money...!!! Shipping was amazingly super fast...!!!
decent case.Sep 11, 2009 It's a decent case for iphone. I really don't have complaints except for Velcro is really annoying sound and bulky look, but I guess it's better than magnets that will mess up your 3G-S compass. other than that it seem to good.
Pros:
seems iphone have pretty good protection.
fit in with other iphone slim jacket.
Clean look.
Well made.
cons:
Velcro, loud and bulky look.
some what difficul taking out the phone sometimes. it might be due to additional jacket.
case doesn't rotate, only horizontal position.
