 Do not buy cables on line ...Nov 07, 2009
Do not waste your time buying cables online ... you have no idea where they are coming from and each one has shipping charges ... ugh! Tried this once and cables eventually cost twice what could buy from local retailer and arrived independently whenever ... Buy from your local retailer ... cheaper, faster, and easier ...

I got these cables plus a mini DVI to DVI converted and everything worked splendidly. I recommend getting the mini DVI to DVI through Amazon as well. Link here: Apple Mini-dvi To Video Adapter. I wanted to watch video from my MacBook(2008) on my Samsung 32inch flatscreen and it worked perfectly. It was quite inexpensive for this setup and the video quality is excellent.

 Fuzzy image well below VGA qualityOct 26, 2009
I used this cable to connect my desktop to my HDTV. The image came out fuzzy, with text looking particularly blurred. While I was disappointed, I figured it was an HDTV, not a computer monitor, and that I'd deal with it.
A few days later I happened to plug my laptop into the HDTV using a VGA cable, and the difference was astonishing: clear, crisp text and vivid images.
My desktop has a mid-level NVidia card, while my laptop is running one of those puny onboard graphics chipsets. Furthermore, DVI/HDMI is supposed to be inherently better than an analog VGA connection.
Clearly, the problem is in the cable.
Will you get an image on your HDTV and be able to watch movies? Yes. Is this the cheapest DVI-to-HDMI cable in the Amazon catalog? Yes. Will you get what you pay for? YES. This cable is worth exactly the price of the item (but not the shipping). But you'll be losing the value of your fancy HDMI TV -- not worth saving $20 when you've plunked several hundred (or thousand) on that fancy TV.

Worked fantastically connecting my Mac Mini (G4) to my Sony Grand Wega!
Don't waste your money on high-dollar, monstrously overpriced cables. This cable does a great job at a great price.
