5Awesome for an inexpensive mp3 playerAug 09, 2009
This little player has it all. You can make a favorite playlist. Listen and record FM radio. I highly recommend it over the more expensive ipod, more for less money. Sounds great!

4Not a bad starter mp3..Apr 18, 2009
I brought this mp3 for my sister sho she can walk the park, I may have to go buy one for me. ( I got her the blue one)
It's easy to use (I have a Windows Vista platform with Windows Player 10 installed).
I was able to upload 20 songs and my 1 hour walking CD for her in about 5 minutes. No problems there, nothing froze on my 'puter. I test drove it with my own earphones and the mp3 sounds really decent. I tried the FM tuner and it's like listening to my stereo, sound is good.
I'll hold onto my receipts like others have written here and let you know if the thing "crashes", but I like it.

1WorthlessApr 10, 2009
I got this MP3 player for Christmas. Thank goodness I didn't spend any money on it! For such a cheap, "simple" model of MP3 player, it is very complicated to use. The worst thing about the RCA Pearl is the software it installs on your computer. It's really complicated and it takes FOREVER to upload and delete songs to and from the player. The volume is too low, the songs are impossible to sort... just a real piece of garbage. Save up a few more bucks and buy a better model.

2Did not LastMar 18, 2009
It lasted for about 2 or 3 months then stopped working and it also goes through batteries fast.

4Good Device for Audible BooksFeb 27, 2009
I bought this device paying about $39 last December. I purchased it to listen to audio books on Audible. It works great. Its powered off of a single AAA battery, which tends to last for about 20 hours. (the battery indicator often shows 0 bars, but it will still play for many hours at that level).

It plays audible books with format of 4, which does take up more space on the device. I tend to only load up a single book at a time, so there is never a space issue. I could probably load up 3-4 unabridged books of 25 hours each if I wanted to do that.

It plugs in with a usb connection that folds into the device itself and hides away.

Has some other features, but I don't use them as I have a pocket recorder for voice notes already. The headphones that came with it are low quality but for audio books that is also not a big deal.
