5such a nice keyboard.Nov 20, 2009
i am so pleased with this keyboard.it is the best keyboard i have ever used. i am a budding writer and have written quite a bit. the lighting is so nice looking. i can lie in bed and type easily seeing the keys with no light on to bother my wife. it is also quiet, and has a nice feel to the keys. they spring back just right for me. i have only had it a week. i just hope it last for a long time i love it so much.

5I love this keyboard.Nov 19, 2009
I searched for a new keyboard when my old one started getting too cruddy. My original keyboard was very basic, and after taking it apart multiple times to clean it out, I felt like I deserved something new, and decided to go with some bells and whistles.

The Eclipse II is nearly perfect. First I tried an Eclipse III, and it was great except for one minor detail - the multi-function buttons along the right and left sides. I was constantly hitting them accidentally when playing games, which was REALLY inconvenient. They were not able to be disabled or re-programmed either, so I boxed that sucker up and sent it back. Then I tried a small wireless keyboard, by Logitech I think, but it was too small, especially the function keys.

Finally Amazon had the Saitek Eclipse II back in stock, and I got one. I love it! The light-up feature works really well and can be set bright enough that I can turn off my desk light when I'm playing games at night. I also do a fair amount of writing, editing, and other work on that PC, and the keyboard works great for that too. It's very comfortable with the built-in, adjustable wrist rest and adjustable keyboard angle. It's a bit larger than a standard keyboard, but this contributes to the comfort and feeling of roominess. There's nothing that really makes this a "gaming" keyboard per se, other than the cool looks of the light-up keys. :)

The only drawback I can see is more of a feature request: I wish the keyboard had some USB ports or audio ports on it, but most keyboards don't have those features anyway, so that would really be an enhancement and not a requirement.

I'm very happy with this keyboard after using it for several months now and don't regret the purchase at all.

4Satiek Eclipse 2: It is what it is.Nov 12, 2009
I've held this keyboard for about a year now. And yes they keys and everything works FAWLESSY. This is NOT a gaming keyboard so it does not have any stand-out features compare to a Razer Lycosa. This keyboard does come with 3 LEDs: Purple, Red, and Blue. I currently use blue but purple also seems pretty cool. I guess its safe to say the blue LED is by far more dimmer then the others. It has a pretty cool design, which was why I picked up this keyboard in the first place. Its basically just like any other keyboard except its more badass and has LEDs. The keys are pretty alright for me. (Was hoping for it to be rubberized as it looks like that from the pictures. LOL) I don't really have any cons for this keyboard. It is what it is. A keyboard with nice design and LED. Maybe $40 is kinda too much. $30 seems perfect. But if you are looking to get this keyboard, why not. Just so you know it is NOT a gaming keyboard. Again, it is exactly what it looks like to be.

5The Best And Coolest Keyboard I've Ever Had, *****Love It Plus Tax*****Nov 11, 2009
Hi Everybody! I just had to give my own personal review of this Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard (PK02AU) I've never have done this before in public so you can truly believe in the words of which I'm saying to you. This keyboard in my mind is the most quiet, best working and the most coolest keyboard you could ever want in your life! It's a very well lighted keys of which you can change the colors from blue, red and purple. Very great dimmer so you can enjoy the amount of brightness. I can go on and on and on about the Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard (PK02AU) but, what more could be said other than, you can without a doubt what so ever, trust me, buy one yourself you'll never want another one in your life!
Thank you very much!

5Sturdy & DependableNov 07, 2009
You can tell this keyboard will last a while. It is heavy, solid, & well engineered. Many reviews I have read focus on the choice of backlit colors but I don't honestly pay that much attention. Useful in the early morning when the lights in the room are low but that's about it. It is a wired keyboard so that is one less thing to fail. Over the past 35 years I have used a lot of keyboards and don't honestly remember most of them. This one sort of reminds me of the VT52 which was probably my favorite. From what I can tell this one will last across a number of machines and will therefore justify its cost. Now if I could only figure out what to do with the 2 windows buttons on the keyboard...
