Loved them but die in rainMar 17, 2010 I have two both dead after runs in the rain. The second one was just a drizzle. Just not worth the trouble to ship back for service. Otherwise, I really liked them.
Love this tiny stuffMar 04, 2010 Sure beats the old Walkman!! The only thing that disturbs me is that the unit does not have a replaceable battery. By the time I need a battery, if I am not able to hack a solution, it becomes a throw away. I don't like that and did not realize it when I bought it. But, for the price it's still a good value I guess. I guess I could finally die before the battery goes though and that would make a whole different scenario.
My old 78s sound great on this thing after running them through a hiss and scratch processor. Aint technology great? Charlie Chaplin sounds great on this thing too! It is nothing short of astonishing!!! I can almost see him dancing.
Great seller, shipped very fast, packaged well, but didn't receive any free things with the purchase. That was a bit of a disappointment. Used to get green stamps and a mug and stuff but I guess those days are gone.
Thanks! It's been fun!

Very nice and compact Mp3 playerFeb 06, 2010 I am very pleased with this Mp3 player. I realize it's not "the latest" in technology and especially Mp3 players, but it works very very nicely if you just want to have an extremely compact music player with a lot of storage space.
The radio feature is quite nice as well, and allows me to listen to the news while walking. The recorder feature is also a plus, and could very well come in handy for making quick voice notes.
Overall sound quality is very good. I am impressed how good it sounds when connected to external speakers.
The fact that you get all this at such a low price is very very nice.
Display was dead on arrivalFeb 03, 2010 When I received this product, it was new and completely sealed in packaging. I opened it and found that the screen did not seem to display. I was able to connect it to my computer and add music files.
I followed online instructions to navigate blindly to the brightness settings and turn them all the way up, but still couldn't see anything on the display. I finally took the Clip into a 100% dark closet and after my eyes adjusted, I was able to make out very faintly what was displayed on the screen.
I contacted Sansa through contact information on their website and received no response. I waited for a response until my return window with Amazon approached, then I returned the product to Amazon for a refund.
In reading online reviews and support forums, it appears that display problems with this device are not unheard of -- some said their Clip was dead on arrival, some said the screen stopped working suddenly for no apparent reason after weeks or months of use.
Great player, if it lasts long enoughFeb 02, 2010 We're a Sansa Clip family. We LOVE them. They've got terrific sound (ditch the included headphones and upgrade to ones that are comfortable - we like Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds (Black)). The Sansa Clip has tons of features (equalizer, FM radio, voice recorder...), is super-user friendly and can run easily on Windows Media Player so doesn't require special software. The battery life is even great and can charge using a USB port on the PC as it syncs.
Now, having said all that, it's a good thing they are inexpensive. We've had warranty claims for 4 out of 7 of the Sansa Clips we've owned. Within a year of use, they have either suddenly stopped charging or suddenly stopped being able to sync with the PC (no changes had been made to either PC or mp3 player). Multiple vague and completely unhelpful "solutions" are given on Sansa's website. Exhaustive (and exhausting) troubleshooting emails with SanDisk's tech support prove futile, at which point they decide that you should ship the unit to them for inspection, insured, at your cost.
Bottom line - buy the Sansa Clip, but save yourself some hassles and buy SquareTrade's extended warranty.
