It works great mounted on a mast above the eaves of a house. The 25ft cable was long enough to reach the receiver inside the house. It's omni-directional, so there's no need for pointing. It has good gain and provides a nice strong signal in San Francisco.

Great compact antennaApr 18, 2008
Product is similar in size to a Garmin GPS antenna. Used it on the rail of my sailboat with 1 inch rail mount from the marine store and there is enough supplied cable to make a pretty long run. No problems with reception despite the fact it is only 6 inches away from my GPS antenna. Great product and price.
