Great product, just doesn't work?Nov 01, 2009 Useless. Not as advertised. Sent it back.
First off let me just say, I love Speck's products. I'm tough on electronics but my iPod has lasted 3+ years now inside its rugged Speck case. That was then, this is now. I ordered the Speck case for my Nuvi W255 GPS. I really needed this case. I can't tell you the number of times this glassy smooth GPS has slipped from my hands or off the dash onto the floorboards. What rocket scientist designed the case on this thing? Thank goodness for carpeting!
Here's my problem. The item is advertised on the box as fitting the Nuvi W255. The small problem is; the on/off switch on the Nuvi W255 is on the *right*. Guess where the hole for the on/off switch is in this product? Yup, on the left.

One very annoying problem...Aug 06, 2009 First off- the case itself is fine. Charging $20+tax for 25 cents worth of made-in-China plastic is capitalism, so no beef there. Including a screen protector was a nice touch, so another 10 cents worth of plastic. The screen protector being an 8th of an inch too short didn't even bother me that much. What kills me is the little sticker tabs they used to help you peel the backing form the protector sheet. When you remove them they leave a big old sticky smudge. Go ahead and destroy the thing trying to get the glue off, but no way. Do the stickers that come off clean cost another penny or something?

Speck Products Tough Screen for Nuvi Widescreen GPSJun 09, 2009 The case appears to be made of a thick, sturdy rubberized skin - think of it as a pumped up version of the rubber IPhone cases. It simply slip fits onto the GPS system and fit my Nuvi 255W with no problems. It comes with an accessory clip that also works as an adapter for the suction cup base/clip that comes with the Nuvi GPS unit. The original Nuvi suction cup/base will not work without the additional clip that comes with the skin as the skin is simply too thick. My main nitpick about the whole package is the screen protector it comes with is not very good (as noted by other users). It was impossible to apply without creating dust specks and bubbles. Plus, the instructions included for the screen protector do not match the one provided. Also, my package was missing the screen cleaning cloth that was supposed to help resolve the dust and bubbling issues. However, other than the issues with skin protector, I am very satisfied with this product.

Great way to protect your GPS investmentJan 30, 2009 I purchased this based on a review from a GPS blog and they were spot on. This is a fairly economical way to protect your expensive GPS. Fits great and works with your existing mount.

All the cool nuvis have one!Jan 13, 2009 I was so happy with my new Garmin 255w; it got me across the state of Michigan over the Christmas holiday with nary a hitch. The only problem? I was having trouble holding onto the darned thing! It slipped through my fingers twice and nearly met its end on the concrete. I found this Speck case on Amazon, and I thought I'd give it a try. What a great product! It fits the device perfectly, and it gives it a nice beefy feel. Now I have something to hold onto. Like some of the other reviewers, I decided not install the screen protector; I am primarily interested in protecting the device body and making it more grippable. Once fitted on the GPS, the Speck gives added depth to the front of the device; the screen is now "sunk in" further, and I think that will be sufficient protection for me. All in all, I think this is a very well-made product, and I highly recommend it!
