 Best mouse pad yetJan 18, 2009
I originally purchased the Experience I-1 to replace the flimsy cloth mouse pad my employer had provided me at work. I liked it so much I bought a second one for home.
The friction is just right, not too slippery nor too sticky. It has just enough grab for making precision movements. Apply a steady amount of force, and the mouse slides evenly.
The only aspect I don't like is any speck of dust becomes readily apparent. A particle of debris under the mouse feels like grinding a rock against the surface. As a result, I keep a dust-free cloth handy and end up wiping the pad off about twice a week.
Movement across the pad does make a soft, scratchy sound, like a knife across a sharpening stone. It doesn't bother me, especially since I'm usually wearing headphones, but people who prefer a quiet environment may be annoyed.
Regardless of the negative aspects, I still prefer this mouse pad over the dozens I've used; the benefits outweigh the costs. I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a precision mousing surface.

The pad is really smooth - the best pad I had in years. But on the surface the dust forms which makes scratchy sounds.
