 Simple and Inexpensive TVNov 11, 2009
I bought it for my nephews to play video games. They absolutely love it. I have to pry them away from it most of the time.

Bought ths for a bedroom--Picture quality is a disappointment--not sharp at all. Sure does not compare to the same size Sharp I purchased a year ago for my kitchen wall. Sound quality on this is just ok--it does get loud enough, however. Looks nice & remote is easy to operate.

I'm going to use this in my home office as a PC monitor and TV so it will be a PC monitor most of time. For $250 I can't complain.....so far (bought it today so we shall see).
Now, it this was to be used as my main TV/entertainment center I would consider another brand and certainly a larger TV but this TV will meet my needs.

Set up is very simple,Price is good for the size,Picture is better than average for a smaller item,sound could be improved somewhat,the main reason for the 3 star rating is that i believe all these type of items should come with the cables required for set up of the unit,having to go and buy all the required cables after getting the item is honestly a pain.

I bought this TV in October 2008, and today (August 23, 2009) it died. It worked a total of TEN MONTHS! I went through the litany of all the things to do to get it to work but it was completely dead. I called the Syvania help line and they said all they would do is have me take or ship the TV to an "authorized" repair place which is 75 miles from where I live (my expense), pay for the labor (more expense) and they would happily pay for the parts. When I complained that the labor and shipping charges could cost as much as the TV and the "parts" may only be a loose wire, the man at Sylvania got rude and basicly said that's the options- take it or leave it. If you buy a TV from Sylvania, you are an idiot! This TV sucked and the service at Sylvania sucks right along with their TV. If I EVER buy another thing with the Sylvania name on it, I hope somebody takes me out and shoots me in the head! They have lousy products and the service is lousy.
