Why are companies allowed to advertise items they do not have? This item was ordered Feb 7, 2007 and supposely on hand. Now March 12, over a month later and it has not been shipped. This has happened to me quite often on Amazon, which is why I try to order someplace else.

This DVD player/VCR is pretty nice. It looks nice on the shelf and it works pretty well, but its a little confusing to use and set up. It is working well now, but not optimally because I can't quite figure it out.

THIS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE WITH AMAZON WAS WONDERFUL! THE DVD PLAYER WORKS GREAT. THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION WERE CLEAR & CONCISE. I RECOMMENDED IT TO A FRIEND WHO ALSO PURCHASED ONE AND HE LOVES HIS TOO. I LOVE SHOPPING FROM HOME AND THIS DVD PLAYER WAS A GREAT BARGAIN. I PLAN ON PURCHASING ANOTHER ONE THAT RECORDS DVD'S FROM VHS AND I WILL DEFINITELY BE BUYING IT ON AMAZON AS WELL.

The VCR video isn't working right out of the box, it wants to play DVD video but VCR audio, I have checked my connections 10 times and I am electronic inclinded. Don't ask me, I guess it will have to be returned.
It have tried the Svideo connections and the progressive scan, it does the same thing either way. Plus tried the functions on the remote to VCR or DVD player and back or TV/VCR button but still no help.

I bought this as a gift for my elderly aunt. When I set it up for her, I was embarrassed when I found out that the item did not work. It appears to be very cheaply made, confusing menus (when they would even come up) and a useless manual. I had to run out to shop for a new one to replace it the same day and I found a much more satisfactory Samsung model at Target for $20 more. It was well worth it.
