I can't believe all the negative reviews of this product, which I can't live without. I'm buying more so I can have some in each car. I have used these fans for years (not necessarily this brand, but they all have worked alike - and for a long time, until dropped repeatedly). It makes a HUGE difference when the car is parked, even in Florida. Yes, you have to make sure you are parked so the sun will hit it. Also, I don't use any of the attaching pieces. I just put them in the window (I still leave the windows cracked), put up the sunshade, and go. Since America is so un-enlightened that you can take kids anywhere, but not your precious dogs, this is a lifesaver. Since the car industry is only NOW acknowledging that one or two people in the country have pets..... this is a decent alternative until all cars have solar fans.
The car is NOTICEABLY cooler. I live in fear that these fans will not be made anymore, since I rely heavily on them. I never use them when driving. Maybe other reviewers have a different agenda, but I would give them 10 stars if I could. Traveling with dogs is not easy, and you always have to keep them in mind. These fans give you at least a little freedom if shaded parking cannot be found.
I use 2 fans. Maybe that helps. Please buy them. 8-)

I bought two of these items, one for each back window of my sedan. They made absolutely NO difference in the heat in car. The Florida panhandle was too much for them. Perhaps in Vermont or Maine they might be able to keep up. For me, though, they are a waste of my money. One star because the fans twirled under solar power. That's all.

I used it for two weeks and removed it because of air noise from the window it was installed on when I drove on the highway. I also found that
if I opened/vented the sunroof of my car the same outcome of the AutoVent
was achieved.

Unforuntately, these devices do not workJul 03, 2009
Unforuntately, these devices do not work. The unit did nothing to reduce the temperatures in my car. There was also a TV channel that did a test of these type of units and they found similar results, that it does nothing.

The device is well built and really protects the rest of the cracked window and it does not creat any noise, and it worked perfictly for 24 hours before dying and refusing to work,
