Only works when you shut off iMac - See ReviewJan 30, 2010 Only works when you turn the computer off ... at least for an iMac.
For stand-by, after 3 minutes, (Which is when it shuts off the ECO Plugs)
shuts off accessories for a split-second, but then causes my iMac to turn back on.
No matter how you set the UPS settings it won't work.
So it would essentially be stuck in a loop, and never
go into stand-by. Not very ECO at all.
Too bad, it's a very nice design, and not too heavy.

Works Great So FarOct 12, 2009 Oct 12 2009
When the power went out for really long periods of time on previous units, those units would drain the battery until it was dead. When the battery goes dead it will no longer recharge properly. Hopefully that won't happen with this unit.
I've had the UPS for about a month now and I get a short (under 5 minute) power outages every few days. I haven't had a really long outages yet. I use this UPS to battery backup my Monitor, Computer Tower, and Router.

Low power, but glad to have it for a low-power purposeSep 09, 2009 I have an office in an area where the power goes off (usually briefly) every once in a while... My computers have their own UPS's but, the cable modem, router, ethernet hub, etc, all resets everytime. This powers them for longer than my computers' UPS will keep them going. And, I think it offers protection against the surge that happens when the juice comes back on.
All in all, I'm glad I got it.
