Great ProductNov 07, 2009 Since my company is no longer purchasing laptops with serial ports, this adapter allowed me to easily continue to use my current testing and logging equipment using the serial port connection. Easy to install and set up.
Serial to USB adapterOct 25, 2009 I am an IT manager for a local company in Des Moines. I had just set up new computers for two different offices and found that I needed serial to USB adapters for the security systems. I had purchased two different adapters from other companies only to find that they and their drivers were not MS certified causing Blue Screen of Death. I then bought the Keyspan adapters, installed the drivers and the adapter, tested and finally no more Blue Screen of Deaths (BSoD). I should have done more research before purchasing the other adapters. But beware, Windows 7 may also need different drivers when available. Test this with the MS Windows 7 Upgrade Adviser.

work with Cisco console cableOct 05, 2009 Pro: This adapter works with Cisco console cable. Does not hang the system (Windows 7)when change the cable.
Con: You need to install driver, there is no Windows 7 driver but Vista works. Price is high.
Works with 64 bit VistaAug 31, 2009 Had my laptop running 64 bit Vista talking to my Garmin GPSMap 72 out 5 minutes after I took the adapter out of the box. I use The Capn navigation software and it works like a charm. Just follow the directions.
This adapter hasn't failed me yet!Aug 16, 2009 At the request of Amazon I am here to write a brief review. I install fire and burglar alarms, and also use this for my telescope.
I first tried a $5.99 prolific based adapter, it connected to some stuff but not faster than 19,200K. I then tried a Belkin, that one was better but it couldn't handle ODD parity or so it would seem and Belkin support claimed it was not defective and must be the equipment I'm using even though it was supposed to emulate a simple serial port to receive print outs. I explained to the support person (in India) that when I connect my equipment to a desktop pc which has a built-in serial port and it worked just fine using hyperterminal, she still wouldn't admit a problem so I returned that one, too. I get this model which was recommended by the eqpt. manufacturer and haven't had a problem since.
