Sony under the counter radioSep 05, 2009 I am very pleased with my Sony under-the-counter radio. It has a very rich sound and is user friendly. It is very convenient to have presets and though I don't use the remote a lot, it comes in handy at times. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this product. There is one thing that I did not expect, however. The radio that I replaced the Sony with was 20-25 years old and for years I listened to a Rochester station, about 70 miles from my home, which I believe is a high Watt station. Now, there are times during the day where there is extreme interference, while at other times, I can listen to it,despite some static. The Sony is in the same location as my first radio was and nothing has changed in my kitchen. Despite the fact, that there is a problem with distance, the pros outweigh the cons and I am happy that I made the selection that I did.

Good Value for the moneySep 03, 2009 The radio is easy to work and has a good sound. The styling is good and it does not consume a lot of space under the cabinet.

Very good under cabinet radioAug 08, 2009 The only negative thing I can say about this radio is that it lacks digital pushbutton tuning. It was easy to install, and the remote works quite well also. All in all, you can't beat the $35 price! Since I only listen to FM public radio (WHRO-FM), the lack of digital tuning is not a real problem. If you want a good, cheap, radio - buy it!

If only negative stars were an optionMay 30, 2009 YIKES! I've heard distortion guitar effects pedals that had less background hiss than this thing. Too bad I found that out AFTER I drilled four 1/4" holes in my cabinet. THREE CHEERS FOR WOOD FILLER!
This thing is a stinker. If CD players sounded like this in the 80s people would have stuck with cassette tapes. GPX - how can you even put out something like this with a serious face? This is not some new technology... it's a CD PLAYER!
The good news is that it yanks out faster than it went in. GPX should reimburse me for my gas and time for selling such a pitiful excuse for a CD player.

OK if you just want a radioMay 16, 2009 I bought this for signficantly less at ALDI, but that doesn't make up for the fact that it is a piece of junk. The first one I got made a rapid thump/thump/thump sound when I played a CD. It seemed to be worse on higher tracks. I exchanged it, and the new one did the same thing. I see here that this is actually a common problem with these units. The radio is OK, but unless you turn up the volume to drown out the CD motor, the CD playing is pointless.
