4Works as advertisedMar 13, 2010
We've used the Pioneer almost exclusively in our car for over a year now. Very happy with it, the unit works as advertised and is easy to use.

Pros:
- Good reception with car kit
- Good sound quality

Cons:
- User interface could be improved (but still easy to use notheless)
- Need to buy car kit separately

4Great sound, small and portable, needs better car baseMar 01, 2010
I got the Inno2 with car kit to replace my old XM SKYFi receiver and car kit. I have been using it daily for about 3 months now in my Honda Civic. It is very small, no larger than my Samsung cell phone, and the display with graphics is quite attractive. It has a lot of little personalization features that were not available on the SKYFi. I feel basic programming of the device and "favoriting" certain channels and then scrolling through those choices is much easier with the Inno2 than with my previous receiver. I also installed a dash mount - it looks very seamless - the receiver stays out of the way and does not cover up any of my radio/AC controls. This mount was available for my SKYFi as well, but since the SKYFi was so much larger it interfered with my radio and A/C controls. I got the optional internal antenna for the Inno2, which allows for automatic charging as soon as you plug it into the base without using the car plug, and it uses your car's speakers. I would recommend this for use with the Inno2. The sound of the Inno2 is great. Switching between XM radio and the MP3 player is super easy - you just need to press one button. I do wish the memory was more than 1GB, but I was able to fit 150 mp3 songs onto it. I mainly use it for XM, so this was not a big deal. The fact that I can put any songs at all on this receiver is a big step up from the SKYFi. My main complaint is that the base is not sturdy enough for use in the car. It is a small plastic base and the ONLY thing holding the Inno2 to the base is the receiver jack. There is no reinforcement on the back, sides, top, nothing. I live in Pittsburgh, PA where potholes are everywhere. The receiver comes partially out of the base approximately once every 15 minutes, more often on rougher roads, changing my nice satellite radio to nasty loud static. I just have to reach out and pop it back down into the base, but it is extremely annoying. The receiver has never come completely out of the base and fallen to the floor, but if the roads are very very rough I could see it happening.

4great soundFeb 02, 2010
Hi;
I have owned the Inno2BK for over a month and can say the unit works great in my house and the car using the home holder/charger. I bought an external antenna, a monster cassette adapter, and a 12 volt charger that plugs into the home unit so that I can listen to the xm in my car. As for walking, the sound does fade if the unit is ubstructed by the mountains. The headphone antenna make a big difference or you can just reposition for alot less. For that reason I gave the unit 4*s.

I haven't had any trouble with Sirius XM Radio company yet. I signed uo for the monthly charge at $15(inc. tax).

4Reception problemsJan 03, 2010
I have used my Inno for a little over two years. I am pretty please with by and large so my review is not about the unit it self. I noticed that a lot of the people that have written unfavorable reviews were having reception problems with the home dock and the car docks. I came upon this problem when I moved my Inno to the garage in a home dock.

I also have a Tao and a Myfi this is important because I found that the reception problem seems to be with the antenna! I was having a very difficukt time getting reception in the garage little to no signal strength and windows but I had used the Myfi in the past with no problem. In desperation, I took the antenna from the MiFi and hooked it up to the Inno home dock and boom full signal strength!

I put the Inno antenna back on and nothing once again, I tried a car antenna that had been odd for a while and nothing once again put a second antenna on and this one was fine also. So it seems to be a problem with the antennas. The car one is useless as is one of the three home antennas I have.

All three home antenna look the same but the reception is different the car antenna is total crap also, I use the home anntena that works in the car.

Hope this helps.

4Good but has some short comingsDec 23, 2009
I have used the GEX INNO2BK for about 4 years. I "upgraded" form a different car add-on system.

I like the portability which allows me to listen to xm when I am mowing lawn (I have the optional, and very uncomfortable, antenna headset) I can also easily move from my car to my Jeep. I do like the ability to record songs, but most of the songs are cut off in the beginning or the end or both. It reminds me as a kid trying to tape record songs from the radio.

I do have the optional car kit which has a weak FM modulator. It is easily over rode by surroundin broadcasts. This never happened with my old system.

The GEX-INNO2BK is "almost there". I like it but would switch to a different model if it could fix the concerns listed above
